Hardik Pandya lost his cool and scolded Ashwani Kumar during the match between the Mumbai Indians and the Punjab Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Hardik Pandya’s Frustration with Ashwani Kumar
The incident happened in the 11th over when Ashwani was brought into the bowling attack. At that point, Punjab Kings were at 89 for 1 after 10 overs while chasing a target of 185 in an important match. With Punjab in a strong position, Mumbai Indians badly needed a breakthrough, so captain Hardik Pandya handed the ball to Ashwani Kumar.
Ashwani Kumar couldn’t perform as expected, and Hardik Pandya didn’t hide his disappointment. The over began with a single, followed by Josh Inglis smashing a low full toss for four using a reverse scoop over short third man.
Next, Ashwani bowled a fuller delivery outside off stump, and Inglis easily drove it down the ground for another boundary, taking full advantage of the empty long-off region.
That second boundary seemed to frustrate Hardik, who appeared angry and was seen speaking sharply to Ashwani. The young pacer then gave away a third four in the over, finishing with 16 runs conceded in just six balls.

Ashwani Kumar’s Redemption with a Key Catch
Later on, Ashwani redeemed himself by taking a fine catch to dismiss Prabhsimran Singh. Punjab Kings openers Prabhsimran and Priyansh Arya started cautiously while chasing 185. Prabhsimran hit a six and a four off Deepak Chahar but was lucky when Ashwani Kumar dropped his catch. However, Prabhsimran was dismissed in the next over by Jasprit Bumrah, caught brilliantly by Ashwani to make up for the earlier drop.
