Haris Rauf Triumphs Over Jasprit Bumrah To Win ICC Player Of The Month

Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf has won the ICC Player of the Month award for November 2024. He beat India’s Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa’s Marco Jansen to claim the award.

Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf was outstanding with the ball in November. He played a key role in helping the Mohammad Rizwan-led team win the ODI series in Australia, a victory that had not been achieved in over 20 years.

Haris Rauf was exceptional with the ball in the ODI series. He began with a three-wicket haul in Melbourne and then produced his best performance in the second match, taking five wickets. This came at a crucial time when Pakistan was behind in the series, as he claimed figures of 5/29 at the Adelaide Oval.

Rauf’s incredible bowling helped Pakistan dismiss Australia for just 163 runs, and Pakistan won the match by 9 wickets. He followed that up with another strong performance in the final game, making life difficult for the Australian batters.

Haris Rauf Picked 18 Wickets In November:

In the series decider, Haris Rauf took two more wickets and was named Player of the Series. He finished with 10 wickets at an economy rate of just five, helping Pakistan win the series 2-1 and making history.

Rauf continued his great form in T20Is against Australia, taking 5 wickets in the series, and then added three more wickets in Zimbabwe. Overall, in November, he took 18 wickets in the matches he played.

Danni Wyatt wins ICC Women’s Player of the Month for November

Meanwhile, English veteran Danni Wyatt won the Women’s Player of the Month award for November 2024. The experienced opener was named Player of the Series as England defeated South Africa Women 3-0 in the T20I series. Wyatt scored a total of 142 runs in three innings, outshining South Africa’s Nadine de Klerk and Bangladesh’s Sharmin Akhter to claim the award.

“I am delighted and honoured to win this award. I’d like to say a big thank you to all my team-mates and coaches who I work with who encourage me every day,” Wyatt told the ICC website. “We had a great T20I series against South Africa where our team performed brilliantly with some great displays across the board.”

He added: “On a personal level, it’s been really pleasing to perform consistently and the aim individually and collectively as a team is to continue this as we build-up to the Ashes and another big year of cricket coming up next year.”
