Harmanpreet Kaur to miss first ODI against Australia due to thumb injury
The Indian Vice-Captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been ruled out of the 1st of 3 ODI Matches scheduled between AUSW v INDW as part of a multi-format series.

Not good news for Indian Cricket Fans as it has been learned out that Harmanpreet Kaur will not be featuring in the first One-Day International between Australia and India which will be played Tomorrow i.e., on 21st September, Tuesday at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, Australia.
The multi-format Commonwealth Bank Series between Australia and India will feature 3 ODIs, a One-off D/N Test Match, and 3 T20s which will be all played at Queensland. Meanwhile, Skipper Mithali Raj and Head Coach of Team India Ramesh Powar attended a virtual press conference ahead of the series.
Thus, Head Coach Ramesh Powar informed on Monday that Harmanpreet Kaur will not be available in the first ODI set to be played between Australia and India due to a thumb injury.
“Harmanpreet Kaur was declared fit and thus was selected for this tour. But unfortunately, some days back she got a hit on the thumb so she is not available for the first ODI. The next ODI, we will take a call according to her pain and fitness management,” said Ramesh Powar during the virtual press conference.
The multi-format series will see India Women’s Cricket Team play its first-ever Pink-Ball Test (Day/Night) at the Metricon Stadium in Carrara from 30 September to 3 October.
Mithali Raj will lead the Indian Team in ODIs and Test whereas Harmanpreet Kaur is the T20I Captain.
