The Undertaker is one of the most decorated WWE superstars in history, and his Wrestlemania streak was more talked about than his title wins. The Undertaker went undefeated in his first 21 Wrestlemania appearances. His decorated streak came to an end at Wrestlemania 30 when he was defeated by Brock Lesnar.

The Undertaker made a shocking claim during an interview with BT Sport, revealing that Edge was offered to break his streak. The Deadman and Edge competed for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania 24. The Rated-R Superstar had a chance to defeat The Phenom and walk away from the grand stage as champion. He, however, refused.

“There were a few people he wanted to break the streak with, including (Vladamir) Kozlov. It was early in the game. I believe he desired Edge, but Edge refused. That was how much he admired The Streak and what he thought The Streak meant to the business. I had no idea at the time. I didn’t realise it until years later. That says a lot about the kind of person he is. Edge realised how significant The Streak had become, and he said, ‘I don’t think it’s the right thing,’ and he said no “The Undertaker revealed to BT Sport.

After his match against Edge, the Undertaker participated in many more classics at Wrestlemania. At Wrestlemania 25 and 26, he defeated Shawn Michaels. At Wrestlemania 27 and 28, he defeated Triple H. In 2013, The Undertaker defeated CM Punk.

WWE finally decided to break The Undertaker’s streak at Wrestlemania 30 and Brock Lesnar became the first superstar to pin him at the Grandest Stage of them All. The Undertaker participated in five more Wrestlemanias and faced Bray Wyatt (2015), Shane McMahon (2016), Roman Reigns (2017), John Cena (2018) and AJ Styles (2020). He lost to Reigns at Wrestlemania 33.
The Undertaker’s retirement match was against AJ Styles at Wrestlemania 36. It was a cinematic match as WWE couldn’t stage the show at a stadium due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Undertaker is now retired and makes public appearances for WWE.
