Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has had his say on Virat Kohli’s gameplay during recent England’s tour. Indian team played one Test match, 3-match ODIs, and 3-match T20Is against England in this tour and Kohli played all these three series. Virat Kohli couldn’t score much runs in any of this series he played. Virat Kohli is still trying to regain his form. He hasn’t had a century since 2019.

Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar feels Virat Kohli’s approach in this England’s tour wasn’t much impressive.

“He didn’t care about whether he was getting runs or whether he was getting out because he desperately needed runs in England and he is looking for international runs but he still sort of backed up the Indian team’s new philosophy. He was trying to hit boundaries from ball number one,” said Sanjay Manjrekar as reported by India Today.

Indian cricket team won the ODI and T20I series against England but Kohli’s rough patch was talked about a lot in this series. This was the last time when Kohli played for India and since then BCCI decided to give him rest for the further series. He wasn’t selected in the squad for 5-match T20Is series and 3-match ODI series against West Indies. Virat is not even included in the Zimbabwe’s tour. He will now directly feature in upcoming Asia Cup 2022 which will be starting from 27th August.
