The former Barcelona defender and former coach features on this list with the 5th most goals in the Champions League. Koeman scored 13 goals in 52 games. However, he scored his goals in the Champions League for three different clubs. Out of the 13 goals he scored 4 in the European Cup and the remaining 9 in the Champions League. In the European Cup he scored one goal for Barcelona and three goals for PSV Eindhoven. While, on the other hand, in the Champions League he scored all his nine goals for Barcelona.
Sergio Ramos
With 126 goals in 890 games, former Real Madrid captain Ramos is the only defender to surpass 100 goals this century. On the other side, the Spaniard is also among the top scorers among defenders in the Champions League. In 129 games for Los Blancos, he has scored 15 goals. Ramos even has eight assists. It is possible that he ends up as the highest goal scorer in the Champions League as he is just two more goals away from going ahead of Gerard Pique.
Ivan Helguera
Iván Helguera Buja is a retired football player from Spain. He possessed excellent defensive and offensive skills and could play as either a central defender or a defensive midfielder. In 87 UEFA Champions League games for Real Madrid, he scored 15 goals.
Roberto Carlos
The dynamic Brazilian left back is tied for first place among defenders in the Champions League in terms of goals scored. The Brazilian played in the Champions League for two separate clubs and is best renowned for his arcing, whirling free kick. He did, however, score each of Los Blancos’ 16 goals. In 120 UCL games, Roberto Carlos scored 16 goals and sent out 25 assists.
Gerard Pique
In 119 games, the dependable Gerard Pique has scored 16 goals in the Champions League. He did, however, score each of his goals in the Champions League for two separate teams, including FC Barcelona and Manchester United. He scored 14 of his goals for FC Barcelona in over 100 games while he scored two goals for Manchester United in four games.
