T20 World Cup in 2007

India played their finest T20 World Cup as they defeated Pakistan to claim the title dramatically. The jersey is the best India has worn in a T20 World Cup, and it’s difficult to look past it. The Indian jersey during this World Cup is classic. The pale blue colour makes one remember several Indian jerseys in the 2000s. India started and ended their campaign by defeating arch-rivals Pakistan. In the first game, India won a stunning bowl-out competition while in the finals they defeated Pakistan by five runs in a dramatic last-over finish.

T20 World Cups in 2009 and 2010

The colours of the national flag were shown in a strip along the right side of the shirt worn by India at the 2009 and 2010 T20 World Cups. The color changed from a light shade of blue to one that was much darker, but there was one significant change. Orange collars were added, as well.

This jersey will always be remembered as Sachin Tendulkar wore the same jersey to score the first-ever double century in ODI cricket. At the 2009 and 2010 World Cups the jersey did not bring much luck to the Men In Blue as they failed to reach the semi-finals in both editions.

T20 World Cup in 2012

The 2012 shirt was a light shade of blue with stripes along both sides, much like the one India wore when they won the 2011 World Cup. 2012 World Cup was another disappointing T20 World Cup as the Men In Blue once again failed to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

T20 World Cup in 2014

The traditional Indian blue of the 2010s was slightly deeper and had a neat appearance on the 2014 jersey. Nonetheless, the torso’s relatively simple appearance and the blue colour gave it simplicity. This World Cup was much more successful for the Indian team as they reached the finals for the first time since their win in 2007. In the finals, they came short as Sri Lanka beat them by 6 wickets.

T20 World Cup in 2016

The 2016 jersey had a unique appearance, sporting a traditional blue color with orange stripes on top. The jersey performed a good job of capturing the evolution of India’s uniforms during the decade of 2010. While wearing this jersey India reached the semi-finals where they got knocked out by the eventual champions, West Indies.

T20 World Cup in 2021

The 2021 T20 World Cup jersey has a fashionable appearance. Designed to reflect the support of fans, the jersey’s colour gives it a very oceanic vibe. The 2021 World Cup was the most disappointing World Cup for India as they first lost to Pakistan for the first time in World Cups by 10 wickets. In the second match they lost to New Zealand which meant that even after winning their next three games, India could only finish third in their group.

T20 World Cup in 2022

The latest inclusion in this list is the jersey from the 2022 World Cup held in Australia. The jersey has evolved into a lighter shade of blue with darker sleeves, much like India’s training clothes. Dark blue is also leaking onto the left side of the torso in a tinge. The buttons, collar line and the text ‘India’ are in bright orange. In this World Cup India reached the semi-finals where they got knocked out by eventual winners England.
