In the 9 editions of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup history, many milestones have been made, and many of them have been broken, and one of them with the ball is the top highest wicket-takers in the tournament history.  The leading top five bowlers are Megan Schutt, Shabnim Ismail, Anya Shrubsole, Ellyse Perry, and Marizanne Kapp. These five players stand at the top of the list of highest wicket-takers in the Women’s T20 World Cup history. 

1. Megan Schutt

Megan Schutt from Australia stands at the top of the list of the highest wicket-takers in the Women’s T20 World Cup, as she has taken 48 wickets in 29 matches, and she took 15 wickets in the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup. Her fast bowling ability has been crucial for the Australian women’s cricket team.

2. Shabnim Ismail 

The South African fast bowler Shabnim Ismail stands at number two on the list of highest wicket-takers in the Women’s T20 World Cup history, with 43 wickets in 32 matches of the tournament. Her best bowling figure was 3/10, with a bowling average of 15.25, in the tournament. 

3. Anya Shrubsole

Anya Shrubsole, an English bowler who holds a record of striking 41 wickets in the Women’s T20 World Cup, with an average of 17.67, an economy of 5.32, and a best bowling figure of 3/6. And she has made a crucial contribution to England’s women’s cricket team. 

4. Ellyse Perry

35-year-old Ellyse Perry, a crucial player for the Australian women’s cricket team, as her 40-wicket contribution in 47 matches of the Women’s T20 World Cup, which has been valuable. Aside from this record, she also holds the record of most appearances in the T20 World Cups, both in men’s and women’s. 

5. Stafanie Taylor

The Jamaican cricketer Stafanie Taylor, the former captain of the West Indies women’s cricket team, and she has been a leading figure for the West Indies in the Women’s T20 World Cup history with the ball, as she has taken 33 wickets in 27 innings with a 5.79 economy, and her best bowling figure is 4/12.
