Hockey India on Monday announced that tickets for the upcoming Hero Hockey India League (HIL) 2025–26 will be free for fans, as part of its initiative to expand the sport’s fanbase across multiple cities.
The Hero Women’s HIL will begin on December 28 in Ranchi and conclude on January 10. The Hero Men’s HIL will start on January 3 in Chennai, move to Ranchi from January 11, and conclude with the final leg in Bhubaneswar from January 17 to 26, a city widely regarded as the cradle of Indian hockey.
Ticket sales for the Ranchi leg of the Hero HIL went live on Monday at 1100 hours, while tickets for the Chennai leg of the Men’s HIL will be available from Wednesday at 1100 hours.

Hero HIL Governing Committee Chairperson Dr Dilip Tirkey said the decision to offer free tickets was aimed at filling stadiums and making hockey more accessible.
“We have once again decided to offer free tickets for hockey fans to enjoy all the matches across Chennai, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar. With world-class players participating, we look forward to a month of fantastic hockey,” he said.

Governing Committee member Bhola Nath Singh added that the league would be a celebration of the sport.
“Hero HIL will be a month-long celebration of hockey, and we invite fans to be part of #hockeykajashn. Our goal is to grow the fanbase across regions and see packed stadiums throughout the season,” he said.

This season’s Hero HIL will feature eight men’s teams and four women’s teams, competing under newly revamped formats designed to deliver fast-paced and exciting hockey.
