How do the Premier League teams look before Matchday 30?

4 Min Read

The title race in the Premier League will be a blockbuster in the coming weeks. Arsenal leads the table with a 8-point-lead. Manchester City sits behind them in second place with 64 points. Here is a look at Premier League teams before Matchday 30.

Title race

Arsenal looks set to win their 14th title. This title would come after a long wait of nearly 20 years for Arsenal. Arsenal last won the Premier League title in the famous 2003-04 season. In that season Arsenal did not only win the Premier League but managed to stay unbeaten and were given a golden trophy for their ‘Invincibles’ title. Manchester City is the only real contender for Arsenal for the title. The Pep Guardiola led team can’t really afford any slip-ups from here on leading into the Matchday 30. Manchester City will be looking for a hat-trick of wins but it would take some blunders from Arsenal.

Matchday 30

Premier League teams will be gearing up for Matchday 30. The Matchday 30 will kick off with Manchester United hosting Everton on Saturday afternoon. The clash between the two will be important for both the clubs but for totally different reasons. United are looking to have a stronger grip over their Champions League spot. While Everton are currently fighting the relegation battle. Everton are tied on points with 18th placed Bournemouth with 27 points in 29 games. 17th placed Nottingham Forrest and 15th placed West Ham also have just 27 points in 29 and 28 games respectively.

In the night game of Saturday, second placed Manchester City will travel to St. Mary’s Stadium where they will play bottom placed Southampton. Unarguably, the biggest clash of the 30th Matchday would be Arsenal against Liverpool at Anfield. It would be a tough ask for the North-London club taking on Liverpool at their home. The match would play a pivotal role in the title race.

Arsenal arch-rivals, Tottenham Spurs will square off against Brighton on Saturday. It will be a crucial match for Spurs as they eye the Champions League spot. Currently, Newcastle United and Manchester United sit at the third and fourth spot respectively with 53 points in 28 matches. Brighton themselves will also fancy their chances this season as they accumulated 46 points in 27 games. They will be fighting for the Europa League spot.

On Saturday evening 19th placed Leicester City will host Bournemouth in a crucial game for the relegation battle. Leicester City currently has 25 points in 29 games.
