AUS vs SA: The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 featured an important match between the Australia and South Africa cricket teams on Tuesday, February 25. The game was scheduled to take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium as the 7th match of the tournament between the Group B teams. However, the match was called off because of rain in the city, and no play could happen.
There was a delay in the toss for the first-ever ICC Champions Trophy match between South Africa and Australia. The weather in the city improved after a while, so it was hoped that the match would start with a slight delay.
At one point, the ground staff even removed the covers, raising hopes that the exciting match between the top teams would go ahead. However, rain returned, and the covers were put back on the pitch. With the cut-off time set for 7:32 pm, it was clear that the ground couldn’t be ready in time for a 20-over match.
As a result, the match was called off, and both teams were awarded one point each. This made the upcoming match between England and Afghanistan a virtual knockout.
