After Kapil Dev, Mahendra Singh Dhoni brought the only second title for team India during the world cup of 2011. Most famously, many cricket fans worldwide even refer to Mahendra Singh Dhoni as captain cool because he stayed calm even if the match turned tense for all the players or fans around him. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was a wicketkeeper-batsman who possessed some excellent skills behind the wicket, which brought so many dismissals for the spin bowlers who used trickery in most of the instances while delivering.

Sourav Ganguly played his part in three major world cups in which he performed pretty handsomely while also captaining his side for the 2003 world cup. Unfortunately, India could not cross the finish line as they succumbed to an embarrassing loss to the all-mighty Australian team in their golden era.

The South African national has been unable to succeed in the world cup till this day which can be heavily towards the captain who oversees all the team activities effectively. But, under the captaincy of Hansie Cronje, the South African national team could fight against prominent opponents and dominate the majority of the games in which they played. Hansie Cronje finished with a 76.66 winning average during his tenure as captain of the South African national team.
