In World Cups, some of the top batsmen in the world have put on some incredible batting displays. However, what distinguishes a champion player is their ability to sustain a high average in such significant competitions. The complete ranking of the top batting average statistics is as follows:
Average | Player | Runs | Span |

In a single Cricket World Cup (minimum 4 innings), a batsman’s highest batting average was 166.5. Glenn Turner of New Zealand had a great average of 166.5 during the first World Cup competition, scoring 333 runs in 4 innings and only being struck out twice. He had the greatest batting average in the World Cup with a top score of 171*.
Two other batsmen have also achieved an average over 100 in a single World Cup.
