ICC T20 WORLD CUP 2026 Format Explained
A total of 20 teams are competing, divided into four groups with five teams each. The tournament follows the same format as the previous edition. Every team will play the other teams in their group once, meaning four matches each in the group stage.
The top two teams from each group will move into the Super 8 stage. These eight teams will then be split into two groups of four based on rankings. During the Super 8 phase, teams will again face each other in a round robin format. The top two teams from each Super 8 group will advance to the semifinals, and from there, the winners will battle it out in the final.
