India captain Suryakumar Yadav enjoyed a big boost in the latest ICC men’s T20I rankings on Wednesday, climbing five places to sit seventh overall. The rise comes after an impressive run of scores in the ongoing five-match home series against New Zealand, where India has taken a commanding 3-0 lead.

The former No.1 batter posted scores of 32, 82 not out, and 57 not out, performances that played a key role in his upward move.

India continue to hold a strong presence at the top of the T20I batting rankings. Abhishek Sharma remains in first place, while Tilak Varma sits third, with the T20 World Cup now just 10 days away.

Ishan Kishan has also made his way back into the rankings, entering at 64th after his explosive 76 off 32 balls in the second match at Raipur. Other Indian batters on the rise include Shivam Dubey, who jumped nine places to 58th, and Rinku Singh, who climbed 13 spots to 68th.

Afghanistan Players Make Big Gains

Afghanistan’s batters also enjoyed a strong week following their 2-1 series win over the West Indies in Dubai. Openers Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah both moved up the rankings after consistent performances.

Ibrahim climbed two places to 13th, while Rahmanullah moved up three spots to 15th. Player-of-the-Series Darwish Rasooli made one of the biggest jumps, surging 29 places to reach 87th after scoring 156 runs across the series.

Notable Moves From Other Teams

South Africa captain Aiden Markram’s unbeaten 86 off 47 balls in the opening match against the West Indies has pushed him into the top 20. West Indies batter Brandon King also impressed, climbing 15 places to 35th.

New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips made solid gains as well, moving up 18 places to 44th.

Bowling Rankings See Strong Movement

In the T20I bowling rankings, Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman moved up five places to ninth after his four for 21 against the West Indies.

India’s Jasprit Bumrah climbed four places to 13th, while Ravi Bishnoi jumped 13 spots to 19th. South Africa’s Corbin Bosch also progressed, moving up eight places to a career-best ranking of 32nd.

Hardik Pandya Shines Across Formats

Hardik Pandya enjoyed a strong rise in multiple categories. He jumped 18 places to 59th in the bowling rankings after taking four wickets in three matches.

He also moved up two spots to 53rd among batters and edged up one place to sit third in the all-rounders list.

ODI Rankings Update

There were changes in the ODI rankings as well following England’s 2-1 series win in Sri Lanka. Harry Brook climbed 17 places to 11th after scoring 247 runs across the three matches.

Joe Root also moved up, jumping from 23rd to 17th after adding 184 runs in the series.

Bowlers on the Rise in ODIs

England leg-spinner Adil Rashid enjoyed a strong series, taking seven wickets and moving up six places to fifth in the ODI bowling rankings.

Sri Lanka’s left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage also made progress, climbing from 43rd to 29th.
