IND vs AUS 3rd Test Day 3 Live Updates: With India has just given them a pathetic 75 to chase down with 10 wickets in hand, Australia is poised to win the third Test inside the third day in Indore. The visitors will finally experience victory for the first time in this series, barring any extraordinary events.
A Test victory India is outstanding in that they have only lost two home games in the last two years. The two teams that defeated them were Australia itself in 2017 and England in 2021. If the third defeat occurs on Friday, only India’s top order collapse will be to blame, with Cheteshwar Pujara providing the only resistance against a deadly Nathan Lyon, who finished up taking 8 wickets in the second innings.
Although both Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were out for very little money, followed by Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, and Srikar Bharat, Pujara’s 59 was the only bright spot in India’s innings. Lyon eventually caught Pujara after Steve Smith pulled off a brilliant dismissal to leave India skittled at 163.

India vs Australia Live Cricket Score and Updates:
Ind vs. Aus live: The WTC Final scenario
Rohit Sharma and company’s journey to the World Test Championship final has become a little more difficult as a result of India’s nine-wicket loss in Nagpur. Australia has guaranteed their place in the World Test Championship final, which will be contested at the Oval in the first week of June, while India still needs to win the fourth and final Test in Ahmedabad.
How is India going to qualify?
India only needs to win in Ahmedabad to qualify. Yet a loss or even a draw would force them to rely on New Zealand to advance, taking control of their own destiny. The only other team that may go to the WTC final at India’s cost is Sri Lanka. New Zealand should defeat or draw Sri Lanka in at least one of the two Tests if India loses or ties the test in Ahmedabad.
Sri Lanka wins 2-0 in New Zealand, but India loses the series 2-1.
In this scenario, Sri Lanka would prevail. India would therefore prefer to win the series 3-1 and advance unaided to the championship game. But even if India is unable to achieve that, they can take some solace in the knowledge that New Zealand has a strong home record and recently held England to a 1-1 draw. It won’t be simple for Sri Lanka to win 2-0, especially given their previous Test performances.
Live IND vs AUS: Lyon is the game’s best player (11 wickets)
Nathan Lyon: It’s been a very amazing Test series. But, I am extremely pleased of my squad for coming out here and giving a great performance. It was quite amazing to watch the boys defeat the opposition today. I don’t know all the techniques or trades in the game, but one thing I do have is faith in my best ball, and that’s the most important thing in international cricket. If you have faith in your greatest ball, you can compete against the top players for longer stretches of time. I don’t believe I have mastered it (bowling to Indian hitters), but I’ve had the good fortune to work with some of the top players, including Virat and Pujara, and I enjoy pushing myself to new limits.
Live IND vs AUS: Winning Captain on the Mic
Steve Smith: “I suppose obviously losing the toss and having to bowl first on the first day. But our bowlers, especially Kuhnemann, performed admirably. All of our bowlers made a difference. In the opening innings, Usman was excellent with the bat. We have some successful alliances. We kind of collapsed at the end, and India bowled pretty brilliantly. It was a difficult day for us; Pujji played brilliantly, but all of our bowlers performed admirably. In the end, it was a complete performance. Our prayers are with Patty, who is back at his house. But, I had a great time this week. This area of the earth is one that I enjoy captaining. I believe I comprehend most of the nuances. I think I did a respectable job this week in a place that I really enjoy. The strategy will be very similar. We must ascertain the circumstances. Being in the WTC final is great, but all that really matters is playing solid cricket. We’re hoping to have a successful series finale.
IND vs AUS LIVE: Indian captain on the mic
When you lose a Test match, a lot of things didn’t go your way, according to Rohit Sharma. We didn’t bat well in the early innings, to start. We are aware of how crucial it is to score runs in the opening frames. And clearly, we needed to put on a strong showing with the bat when they got a lead of 80–90 runs, but we were only able to take a 75–run lead. Truthfully, we haven’t given it much thought yet (Ahmedabad Test conditions ahead of the WTC Final). We just finished the test, therefore we should try again. We must realise that as a team, we must get better. You must bowl when playing on difficult surfaces. We gave them a single area to bowl in. Not to detract from their bowlers’ accomplishments, Nathan Lyon in particular. We had to make an effort to be brave, which I don’t think we were. We should also be credited for the way we batted in the first two games. Even in such case, players must band together and contribute in order for the game to proceed normally. We were hoping some guys would step up, but it never happened. We did not put in as much effort as we could have because we were a little behind.
IND vs AUS Live: Steve Smith, the captain of the India-Australia Test series, and the team trailing changing captain midway and winning one back. It’s starting to catch on. Ajinkya Rahane led India to one of their most illustrious victories in 2020–21. Australia has clawed one back in the four-match series in Indore with Steve Smith replacing Pat Cummins after going up 2-0 in the opening two Test matches. The score is now 2-1, and although the hosts have kept the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the visitors still have a chance to even the score in Ahmedabad. The stand-in captain, who was demoted from the position in 2018 as a result of the historic Sandpapergate scandal, is now taking centre stage. This would be really beneficial for the captain.
Live IND vs AUS: Head on the mic
Travis Head: “I basically wanted to go forward incrementally. Everything that can happen with the ball has been demonstrated to us during the series. Simply put, it feels good to give. Don’t forget to start strong in the early innings. We needed to be sure that our intentions were crystal clear before the test series. After being put under pressure in the first two games, we had to make some adjustments, but I think we did a tremendous job of coming back. We were aware that things wouldn’t go smoothly. There would be moments when India would be in the lead and we would be able to score runs. It was crucial that we just maintained our composure. There was no top-down communication. Unreal (on Nathan Lyon) (on Nathan Lyon). He performs his routine. For an Australian bowler, he has the most wickets in the subcontinent. May he continue for a while.
IND vs AUS Live: Australia Wins
Coming down the track, Travis Head hits Ashwin for four. Labuschange had made it known that he intended to end this early in the over and do it with a midwicket boundary. winning by nine wickets for Australia. Among their most well-known in India. Throughout the series, they have now made one back. Ahmedabad is receiving a 2-1 lead.
