IND VS AUS – “We Criticize Ourselves More Than You Do”: KL Rahul Shuts Down ‘On-Strike’ Debate
India’s stand-in skipper KL Rahul has been criticised for his rusty performance and his average strike-rate for the team lately. The skipper is looking forward to the Australia series as an opportunity to improve his performance.

It’s time for India and Australia to kick start the much anticipated battle after two years on the cricket pitch of Mohali in the three-match T20I series. The players from both teams are all set to lock horns against each other. This will be the first match between India and Australia after December 2020.
India’s stand-in skipper KL Rahul has been criticised for his rusty performance and his average strike-rate for the team lately. The skipper is looking forward to the Australia series as an opportunity to improve his performance.
According to the sources, KL Rahul’s position of an opening batsman could suffer after Virat Kohli stormed back into his form and scored a smashing hundred against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup. The run machine, Kohli, scored an unbeaten 122 off 61 deliveries.
Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian contingent in the three-match T20I series against the Aussies at Mohali. The former cricketers and experts have urged Virat Kohli to open the innings in the three-match T20I series after he stormed back into form. According to the sources, team India could try different combinations and if that happens, KL Rahul might have to sit out.
KL Rahul addressed the press on Monday, just before the Australia series. He mentioned how he’s looking at the series as an opponent to improve his strike rate and his overall performance as an opener of the Indian cricket team. The vice-captain of the Indian cricket team said “I am working towards how I can improve as an opening batter and make more impact on the team.”
Shutting down all the criticism around his rusty performance, the skipper said “Criticism everyone does, but we criticise ourselves the most. We are playing for the country, and when we don’t do well, it hurts us the most.”
The vice-captain of the Indian cricket team confessed the mistakes that took place during last year’s T20WC and this year’s Asia Cup. Rahul claimed that the Indian cricket team was clear about what went wrong at the two events and trying to learn from it.
