“Chess players can be seen in the late afternoon sun in Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, NY”.

If we are not wrong , by the word  ‘Chess Player’  he meant the leg-spinner  Yuzvendra Chahal, who was a national chess player before he played for India.

By the word ‘sun’ he might have indicated towards ‘Suryakumar Yadav’ and by the name of park that is Washington square he referred to inclusion of the all-rounder Washington Sundar.

Wasim Jaffer is most likely telling the Indian team to play Chahal and Sundar, respectively, in place of Kuldeep Yadav and Krunal Pandya.
