India vs Australia: A Fierce Rivalry
India reached the ODI World Cup final with 10 straight wins, playing in front of a packed crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Many considered them favorites to win. Batting first, India scored only 240 runs, and the Australian bowlers, led by Pat Cummins, caused a lot of trouble. When Australia started chasing 241, they were in trouble at 47/3, but Travis Head’s brilliant 137 off 120 balls led them to a six-wicket win.
The painful memory of that defeat on November 19, 2023, is still fresh, and now India has a chance for revenge by knocking Australia out of the tournament.
Just over a year later, India faces a perfect opportunity for payback. The Champions Trophy semifinal in Dubai will test whether Rohit Sharma’s team can overcome their past defeat and finally beat Australia in an ICC knockout match.
