India needs Prithvi Shaw as an opener in England series

Shubman Gill boarding the flight with two shin splints -medical tribal stress syndrome. This resulted due to stress-related workload. It seemed that Gill did not get any injury during any training session, it is clearly understood that splint can only come as a result of off-field training workload. There is a diagnosis going on to find out the nature of the splint. This suggests that Gill should be away from playing cricket at least for six-eight six eight

Now, there will be debate about who is the best fit to replace Subhuman Gill as an opener in the England series. Mayank Agarwal who had an excellent run as an opener between the year 2018 and 2019. He is also a part of the 24 members squad that has toured England. There is also a reserve opener Abhimanyu Easwaran just in case. Abhimanyu Easwaran has played 64 first-class matches, but yet to receive an international cap. The 25-year-old had a good season in 2019-2019 in domestic cricket.

The big doubt in the mind of the selectors can they only depend on this man for the entire 5 match test series. Indian team wants Prithvi Shah to come to England and also raised the formal request to the BCCI. Even though Prithvi had a disappointing outing both in New Zealand and Australia, but the performance of his in the recent Vijaya Hazare trophy speaks volume of talent that he possesses. He has not only hit a milestone of scoring 800 runs, eventually broke the record of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli to have the highest individual score in a List A chase.

He is seemed to be the batsman having absolute form and rhythm to his game. So, rather than playing a Sri Lanka series, he should make himself available for England series as India are desperate for an opener with good form and class.  Selectors have to take a  call quickly think about what happens if both Mayank and Rohit become unavailable for the test, then they may be forced to go with Abhimanyu Easwaran. The BCCI has to take a call quickly before the quarantine protocols get over, whether he should be sent to England or not.
