India squad for Deaflympics 2025: Where To Watch, Live Streaming Details

India is all set to make a strong impact at the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics, scheduled from November 15 to 26. This marks the 25th edition of the Summer Deaflympics, first held in Paris in 1924.

The Indian contingent will compete across 11 sports: athletics, badminton, golf, judo, karate, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, wrestling, and tennis. Shooting and athletics feature the largest representation, with 12 shooters and 11 track and field athletes in action.

The squad consists of 45 men and 28 women, reflecting the growing strength and diversity of Indian athletes in international deaf sports. This marks the largest-ever Indian delegation at the Deaflympics.

Diksha Dagar, a golld medallist from the 2022 Deaflympics in Brazil and silver medallist in 2017, will spearhead India’s contintegent.

Jerlin Anika Jayaratchagan, a triple gold medallist in badminton at previous Deaflympics, will be India’s flag-bearer at Deaflympics 2025.

The Deaflympics, sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and organized by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD), is a premier international multi-sport event for deaf athletes.

India debuted at the International Deaf Games in 1965 and has since won a total of 52 medals. Its best-ever performance came in Caxias do Sul 2022, where Indian athletes bagged 16 medals (8 gold, 1 silver, 7 bronze), finishing ninth among 77 nations.
