India Squad For Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup Announced: Full List Of Players

Indian hockey is poised for an action-packed end to 2025 Men’s Junior Hockey World Cup, with Hockey India unveiling the 18-member squad for the FIH Junior Men’s World Cup.

Hockey India on Friday announced the squad for the FIH Junior Hockey World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025, scheduled from 28 November to 10 December in Chennai and Madurai. Defender and drag-flick specialist Rohit has been named captain following his standout performance at the Sultan of Johor Cup, where India clinched silver.

India has been drawn in Pool B alongside Chile, Switzerland, and Oman, the latter replacing Pakistan for this edition.

Coach Sreejesh Emphasises Experience and Mental Strength

Explaining the selection strategy, Coach Sreejesh said the squad represents a “tried-and-tested” group familiar with the intensity required at a World Cup.
He noted that alongside skill and physicality, the staff focused heavily on players’ mental resilience.

Midfielders in the squad inlcude Ankit Pal, Adrohit Ekka, Thounaojam Ingalemba Luwang, Manmeet Singh, and Rosan Kujur. The forwards are Sourabh Anand Kushwaha, Arshdeep Singh, Ajeet Yadav, Dilraj Singh, and Gurjot, who debuted for the senior team in ACT 2024. Alternates for the tournament are Ravneet Singh and Rohit Kullu.

A major absence will be star forward Araijeet Singh Hundal, ruled out due to a shoulder injury.

The team has also benefited from substantial exposure leading up to the World Cup- including multiple matches against the Senior India team while training at the SAI campus in Bengaluru. “When players do well against their senior compatriots, they automatically gain confidence,” Sreejesh added, expressing optimism about performing strongly in front of the home crowd.
