BCCI Announces India’s Squad for Men’s U19 Asia Cup in UAE: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the squad for the upcoming Men’s U19 Asia Cup, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates from December 12 to 21. Chennai Super Kings opener Ayush Mhatre will lead the team, and Rajasthan Royals player Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has also earned a place in the squad.

The tournament will feature eight teams playing in the ODI format. India will be joined by Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, along with three teams that secured their spots through the ACC Men’s U19 Premier Cup.

Ayush Mhatre to Lead India, Vihaan Malhotra Named Vice-Captain

On Friday, November 28, the BCCI confirmed that the Junior Cricket Committee has finalised India’s squad for the U19 Asia Cup. Ayush Mhatre will captain the side, while Vihaan Malhotra has been appointed vice-captain.

Kishan Kumar Singh has also been included, but his participation will depend on a fitness clearance. The board has named four standby players: Rahul Kumar, Hemchudeshan J, B.K. Kishore and Aditya Rawat.

Rising Talents Strengthen India’s Squad

Suryavanshi and Mhatre have already made an impression in the IPL and were retained by the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings for the 2026 season. The U19 squad brings together a strong group of young players, including promising names like Abhigyan Kundu and Aaron George.

The selectors seem to have put together a balanced and energetic team, with the standby players providing additional depth.

India and Pakistan Set for December 14 Clash

India has been placed in Group A for the 2025 U19 Asia Cup, where they will take on Pakistan along with two teams that qualify through the upcoming rounds. Group B includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and another qualifying team.

India’s first match is on December 12, followed by a much-awaited encounter with Pakistan on December 14. Their final group game will be against Qualifier 3.

The semi-finals will be held on December 19, and the final will take place on December 21. All matches are scheduled across the ICC Academy and The Sevens venues.
