Both Zimbabwe and West Indies finished on top of the points table in their respective groups in the first round of the tournament
Zimbabwe and West Indies will take on each other at the Wankhede Stadium in the fourth match of the Super Eight stage of the 2026 edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup. The two sides will look to carry on the form that they showed in the first leg of the competition by not losing a single match and topping the respective groups.
If we talk about the players to watch out for in this contest for Zimbabwe, all eyes will be on the captain, Sikandar Raza, to lead from the front with both bat and ball, as the pitch is expected to assist the spinners with it being on the drier side and having a tinge of grass.
Raza will also look for support from in-form batters like Brian Bennett in the batting department, who is yet to be dismissed in the competion and Blessing Muzarabani to pick wickets with the new ball in the first six overs in order to make things easy for him in the middle phase of the game.
As far as the West Indies are concerned, they will rely on thecaptain Shai Hope to get them off to a good start in the powerplay and lay a platform for the middle order batters to capatalize on, while the team management will back its pacers andspinners to shoulder the responsibility and get the team over the line against Zimbabwe.
Captain’s Corner
Sikandar Raza, the Zimbabwean captain, elected to bowl first after winning the toss as he was of the opinion that the ground was suitable for chasing.
West Indies’ captain Shai Hope said that they would have bowled first as well had they won the toss.

Pitch Report
The surface at the Wankhede Stadium for the Super Eight clash between Zimbabwe and West Indies is expected to be on the drier side and also a two-paced one with a combination of grass anddry patches. Meaning that it will have a lot of assistance for the bowlers, especially the spinners, given that they pitch the ball in the right areas. Pacers, on the other hand, can rely on using variations like cutters and slower balls to get the maximum out of the wicket.
As far as the batters are concerned, they will have to give themselves an over or two in order to get used to the pace and bounce of the wicket.
