The young girls in blue put on another dominant performance, keeping the opposition under control throughout the match. Trisha Gongadi was the standout player again, taking three wickets and finishing the game unbeaten on 44.

South Africa chose to bat after winning the toss and started well with Jemma Botha hitting 10 runs in the first over off VJ Joshitha. However, once spin was introduced in the second over, Parunika Sisodia made an immediate impact, taking a wicket in her first over. The spinners then controlled the game, and South Africa could only manage 33 runs in the first 10 overs.

After the drinks break, things didn’t improve as the South African players struggled to handle the spin. At 44/5 in the 13th over, it looked unlikely they would reach even 70 runs. But Mieke van Voorst and Fay Cowling added 30 runs for the sixth wicket, giving their score a bit more respect. However, South Africa collapsed again in the final overs, losing five wickets for just eight runs, and were bowled out for 82 in 20 overs.

Trisha was the standout bowler, taking three wickets for just 15 runs. Sisodia, Vaishnavi, and Aayushi Shukla each took two wickets. Shabnam Shakil also took a wicket, dismissing Botha, who had been looking dangerous early on.

Chasing just 83 runs, India made it look easy, and Trisha played some brilliant shots to guide the team. Kamalini didn’t contribute much, getting out for just eight runs to Reyneke, but the opening partnership of 36 runs set a solid foundation for the chase.
