Indian Volleyball Team Crush Pakistan In CAVA Nations League 2025

The Indian men’s volleyball team handed a crushing defeat to Pakistan in the  CAVA Nations League match in Fergana, Uzbekistan, on Monday.

India defeated rival Pakistan in straight sets 25-19, 25-19, 25-23 in an encounter which lasted just less than an hour and half. They showed intent right from the start and never let up the lead in the first two sets. Pakistan looked attempted a comeback in the third set as it clawed its way back to cut down India’s lead to two at match point.

However, John Joseph Eanthungal Joseph produced a block near the net under pressure to give India the win.

After seven matches in the tournament, India has three wins, one loss, and three draws at CAVA Nations League 2025.

Initially, India had withdrawn from the tournament when it was scheduled to take place in Pakistan due to rising border tensions. However, the team decided to participate after the event was relocated to Uzbekistan.

India will next face Kazakhstan on June 3 while Pakistan, who entered as the defending champions are scheduled to meet Iran on the same day.

The 2025 edition of the men’s CAVA Nations League (May 29 to June 2) was initially slated to be held in Pakistan, but was later relocated to Uzbekistan after India refused to play in the neighbouring country.

Seven nations across Central and South Asia are battling for the title. India are drawn in Pool A alongside Turkmenistan, Iran, and hosts Uzbekistan. Meanwhile, Pakistan are drawn alongside Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan in Pool B include.
