Day 1 of the first Test between India and Australia Regular Updates: At the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Thursday, Ravindra Jadeja claimed a five-wicket haul and Ravichandran Ashwin claimed three wickets as India dismissed Australia for 177 runs. Before Jadeja and Ashwin grabbed control, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj had reduced Australia to 2 for 2 in 2.1 overs, giving India a great start. - What a comeback for Jadeja
In his first international encounter since August of last year, he exploded to four wickets. When Smith and Labuschagne appeared to be in good spirits, India sorely needed a wicket, and Jadeja delivered. He then followed that up by getting a wicket off the very next ball.
Jadeja’s return haul included a five-wicket haul. He moves quickly and fully, and as Handscomb tries to sweep but misses, the ball raps on the pads. That appears to be in order, yet Handscomb clearly accepts the review anyhow. When the television umpire’s confirmation arrives, he is still standing close to the line.
