India’s batting against Namibia in the T20 World Cup started in a very strong way, but slowed down later. Ishan Kishan scored 61 runs from just 24 balls, hitting 11 boundaries with 6 Sixes and 5 fours and putting early pressure on Namibia’s bowlers. His strike rate was over 250, which helped India score quickly in the powerplay.

The middle order could not continue the fast scoring. Sanju Samson started fast but could only score 22 runs from 8 balls, and did not bat long, hitting a shot that wasn’t in his favor. Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus bowled very well and took 4 wickets for 20 runs, taking big giants’ wickets like Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel, which slowed India’s scoring.

Namibia’s batting in the match had two very different phases. They positively started the chase and scored 57 runs for the loss of one wicket in the powerplay. This showed confidence against India’s bowlers. Steenkamp played well and scored 29 runs from 20 balls, giving stability at the top.

However, the game changed once India’s spinner Varun Chakaravarthy came on to bowl, and took three wickets, making him bowled on the first ball of the eighth over. After this, Namibia struggled to score runs and lost wickets quickly.  The lower order failed to support the batters, and Namibia were bowled out for 116 runs, far short of the target.

India’s bowling played a key role in the win against Namibia. After Namibia scored quickly in the powerplay, Indian bowlers took control of the match. The spinners used the pitch conditions well and did not allow the batters to score freely. Axar Patel bowled tight overs and took two wickets for 20 runs, which increased pressure.

Hardik Pandya supported well in the middle overs and picked up two important wickets for 21 runs. India changed their bowling plans at the right time, which led to Namibia’s batting collapse. Varun Chakravarthy was the standout bowler for India. He took 3 wickets for just 7 runs and completely changed the game.
