Ravindra Jadeja shone like a star with the bat in back to back matches in Dharamsala. After scoring 45 in the second T20I, he followed it up with another unbeaten 15-ball 22 in the third T20I to help India whitewash the Lankans in the three-match T20I series. India won the match with more than three overs to spare.
Shreyas Iyer scored 73 which was his third fifty on the trot in the series. He added an unbeaten 45-run stand with Jadeja to take India home. While Iyer and Jadeja made a good score with the bat, Venkatesh Iyer (5) and Sanju Samson (18) did not.
For Samson, it was a great chance to follow up his 39 in the second T20I with another big score but he failed to do so. He also opened the batting with Rohit Sharma and had the chance to pace his innings as well.
Meanwhile, post the match, Ravindra Jadeja spoke about his batting and unveiled why he did not bowl in the third and final T20I. “The plan was to give Bishnoi and Kuldeep some match practice today, that’s the reason I didn’t bowl” said Jadeja.
“I have worked hard at the NCA, the trainers there were helpful, that was my preparation for the T20Is and the upcoming Tests,” Jadeja added
