The Indian Golf Open is one of the premier golf tournaments that clashed with the Houston Open. While Min Woo Lee took the spotlight by winning his maiden title on the PGA Tour at the Houston Open, we can not forget to celebrate Eugenio Chacarra, who won the Indian Golf Open. The tournament ended on 30 March at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram, India.

The event features nearly 140 golfers from across 30 countries and a massive prize pool of $2.25 million, with the winner Eugenia Chacarra taking home $382,500. He faced a challenging start in the final round, carding a double bogey on the first hole and a bogey on the third, which briefly dropped him from the lead. He then made an impressive comeback with five birdies on holes six, nine, 11, 12, and 14, regaining the top position.

With his beautiful victory, he turned the game around and stunned the defending champion Keita Nakajima by two strokes. Nakajima struggled in the beginning, however, he fought back and gave Eugenia Chacarra a tough game. In the end, he finished as 4-under par while Nakajima finished second at 2-under par.

Chacarra shared his excitement on winning his maiden title and said, “After playing here in February, I went and worked hard. I knew that I would need my A-game here. It is a life-changing win. I don’t have to worry about entries for the next two years.”

I’m just grateful to play golf for a living. Feel like when I struggled playing golf the past couple of years, I wasn’t in a good environment with myself. I wasn’t enjoying it. I changed that this year and it’s been great. I can shoot one-over, can shoot 7-under, my goal is to just enjoy.” he added
