The 2025 Indian Open squash tournament is underway in Mumbai.
It is a landmark event in India as it is the country’s first ever PSA Squash Copper tournament. It also marks the return of top-tier PSA tournaments to the country for the first time since the CCI International, a PSA World Tour Silver event, held in 2018.
The events at the Indian Open 2025 will be held at the iconic Bombay Gymkhana’s indoor courts with a full-glass outdoor court set up for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
Top international star squash players from around the world will take part in the tournament. Athletes from international powerhouses like Egypt, Canada, Malaysia, Japan are in the city of Mumbai to showcase their prowess.
Both men’s and women’s singles competition will be played with fields of 24.
The Indian Open 2025, which will conclude on March 28, will be hosted at the iconic Bombay Gymkhana’s indoor courts with a full-glass outdoor court set up for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.

Leading the home contingent will be the national No.1s Ramit Tandon and Akanksha Salunkhe, alongside Velavan Senthilkumar, Veer Chotrani, Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh.
“It’s always good to play at home,” Tandon said. “I think in India we don’t get the opportunity to do it enough. Especially with the Olympics coming up, our PSA rankings are going to be crucial and home court advantage is something Indians don’t really get at the top level.”
Indian players were excited that such a top-tier tournament was taking place on their home soil.
“This will be one of the bigger tournaments for me up till now and getting to play in India as well as being able to play with so many international players is going to be wonderful,” Anahat Singh noted. “Especially for me it’s really important for my ranking and getting to play at home rather than travelling outside the country so much.”
The tournament became crucial for players to build momentum ahead of Squash’s Olympic debut at LA 2028.
