Lautaro Martinez’s Stoppage-Time Goal Secures Supercoppa for Inter Milan
Inter Milan claimed their third consecutive Supercoppa victory with a 1-0 win over 10-man Napoli, thanks to Lautaro Martinez‘s stoppage-time goal.
In the newly adopted four-team format for the competition, Inter dominated the semifinal, defeating Lazio 3-0, while Napoli secured their spot in the final by eliminating Fiorentina with a three-goal margin.
The Nerazzurri controlled Monday’s final, with Lautaro initially finding the net in the 38th minute, only for the goal to be disallowed due to Marcus Thuram’s offside position in the buildup, as reported by Xinhua.

Napoli faced further challenges when Giovanni Simeone received a second yellow card on the hour mark, reducing them to 10 players. Despite being a man down, Napoli fought to hold off Inter’s pressure.
In the 91st minute, Benjamin Pavard delivered a crucial ball across the face of the goal, setting up Lautaro Martinez to score the decisive goal.

Inter’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, praised his team’s performance, especially considering they played a semifinal just three days prior.
