Riley Meredith- INR 8 crores:

Young Australian speedster Riley Meredith did not earn any bids in the auction ahead of the IPL 2020 edition. However, the pacer was in demand of most of the franchises leading up to the 14th season and became one of the most expensive players. Punjab Kings sealed the deal on Meredith at INR 8 crores. Meredith also performed well in the 2020-21 season of BBL, taking 16 wickets in 13 matches at 24.62 for the Hobart Hurricanes.
Varun Chakravarthy – INR 8.4 crores:

Before shining for the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2020, Varun Chakravarthy was part of Kings XI Punjab, who secured him for a mind-boggling amount of INR 8.4 crores. The 29-year old mystery leg-spinner played only one match in Kings X1 Punjab and took as many scalps. But things around the following year when Kolkata Knight Riders procured the leg-spinner and Varun responded by taking 17 wickets in 13 games alongside a five-wicket haul.
Pawan Negi – INR 8.5 crores:

Pawan Negi created history in the IPL auction 2016 by becoming the costliest Indian player in the auction. Delhi Daredevils (currently known as Delhi Capitals) pouched for him a mammoth amount of INR 8.5 crores, but the Delhi-born spin-bowling all-rounder could not make an impact for the franchise.
Krunal Pandya – INR 8.8 crores:

Krishnappa Gowtham – INR 9.25 crores:

Krishnappa Gowtham did not have a particularly impressive IPL 2020 season. Despite that, Chennai Super Kings and SunRisers Hyderabad went for him, all guns blazing and CSK secured his services at INR 9.25 crores. His best season was with the Rajasthan Royals in 2018, when in 15 games, he scored 126 runs while snaring 11 scalps.
