Delhi Capitals started off IPL with a win against Chennai Super Kings but had a mid-match blunder in their previous game against Rajasthan Royals, which saw Chris Morris single-handedly hammering and haunting Delhi. Rabada made his start to the IPL 2021 campaign but didn’t look sharp with his spell and was thrashed by fellow South African, Chris Morris for two monster-sized sixes. Anrich Nortje has rejoined the squad after testing negative and he was one of the reasons why Delhi had such a successful last season. Now the question is, which foreign national would he dropped from Delhi’s next match, to squeeze in Nortje.

Two probable members that didn’t have their best start thus far, happens to be England’s Tom Curran and Australia’s Marcus Stoinis.

Pacer, Tom Curran in the first match against CSK, took a wicket but was costly in his quota of 4, in which he conceded 40 runs. In the second match, he was downright miserable. He bowled 3.4 overs and conceded 35 runs. He doesn’t look sharp as well while he’s bowling and in the 2nd match, scored 21 pivotal runs for the team. Apart from these efforts, he hasn’t been that convincing and that’s why he could be replaced in the next match to give Nortje a place.

All-rounder Stoinis too didn’t have a swift start to his IPL 2021 ambitions. In his first match, he scored 14 runs and in the second he wasn’t even able to add a single run to the Delhi score. In bowling too, he was quite off. In the first match, he was expensive in his 2 overs by conceding 26 runs and in the second one, he was thrashed for 15 runs albeit he bowled a single over only. Considering his All-rounder stature, it’s quite possible that he could be dropped from the team.

Woakes has been roaring with confidence from the 2 matches that he has played and there’s no way he can be a drop from the team and Rabada had proven in the past that even he could go through a rough patch, but it doesn’t take much time to turn that rough into “Purple”.
