IPL 2021: Ben Stokes trolled Sunil Gavaskar after listening his commentary on a bouncer

England all-rounder Ben Stokes has withdrawn from the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) following an injury. He has returned home but is constantly watching his IPL matches. Stokes, representing the Rajasthan Royals, took on veteran Sunil Gavaskar on Sunday for commentary on the match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings (DC vs PBKS). He wrote a part of the commentary on social media and then posted an emoji beating his head.

Stokes did not write anyone’s name but their target was Gavaskar commenting in the match. In the 11th over of the innings, Sunil Gavaskar spoke about the bouncer in the commentary when the Punjab Kings captain was batting at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Mayank Agarwal hit two sixes in the same over to Kesar Rabada (Kagiso Rabada) playing from the Delhi Capitals team.

Rabada then bowled a small ball to KL Rahul, the captain of the Punjab Kings team, but Rahul played it with a hook. Meanwhile, Gavaskar, who is commenting on the match, said, ‘What a bad bouncer. If you want to throw a bouncer then it should be above the off stump. Meanwhile, Stokes tweeted on social media writing the whole incident. He wrote that it was clear in the replays that the line of the bouncer was above the stump. Not only this, but he also posted an emoji beating his head on this. Some cricket fans also shared their views on this.

At the Wankhede Stadium, the Punjab Kings suffered a crushing defeat against Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets. With the help of half-centuries from skipper Lokesh Rahul (61) and Mayank Agarwal (69), Punjab scored 195 for 4 wickets but Delhi achieved the target by losing 4 wickets in 18.2 overs. Opener Shikhar Dhawan scored 92 runs for Delhi, who was adjudged Man of the Match. It was the second win in three matches of Delhi Capitals and with 4 points, it reached second place in the points table. Although Mumbai Indians also have 4 points, they are behind Delhi in terms of net run rate.
