IPL 2021: Breakthrough for KKR, as Maxwell-Padikkal partnership broken by Krishna

After losing 2 top-order wickets in the 2nd over of the innings, at the score of 9, Royal Challengers Bangalore would be grateful to Devdutt Padikkal and Glenn Maxwell’s 3rd wicket partnership.

The duo added 86 runs in their 2nd wicket partnership in which Padikkal played a second fiddle role, but Glenn Maxwell hammered the KKR bowling attack.

Padikkal made 25 off 28 balls before getting dismissed by Prasidh Krishna, in the 1st ball of the 12th over. Glenn Maxwell is still hammering bowlers and he reached his half-century in just 28 balls.

This turned out to be a crucial partnership after KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar in the 2nd over of the innings. This is not only damage control, but also a counterattack against the KKR bowling attack.
