Mumbai Indians, captained by Rohit Sharma, will kick start their Indian Premier League (IPL) title defense against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai today. The match is expected to be a cracking contest as both teams have some of the best Twenty20 players from across the world in their setup. While the defending champions did not tinker much with their core at the player auction, RCB invested heavily in overseas all-rounders by roping in Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson for this season. Since Rohit took charge of the Mumbai-based franchise, they have been the team to beat in the IPL.
Royals Challengers Bengaluru recently posted a video from their official Twitter handle. In that video, RCB’s star players and coaches talked about the strengths and weaknesses of the Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai may be played without Quinton de Kock. The South African wicketkeeper-batsman has to go through a quarantine period after arriving in India.
RCB will be missing Adam Zampa. The Australian leg spinner is getting married and will not be arriving in India until later in the tournament.
Today both of the team will take the field at Chennai against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore with renewed vigor and with the hope of correcting one blot they have in their list of records. Mumbai has been perennial slow starters and has not won.
Mumbai Indians have a 17-9 advantage on the head to head but past results matter very little in a format where destinies can change within a few balls. RCB would hope the Chepauk pitch is not a belter as that would aid MI’s stroke makers.
An interesting contest is at our hands as the Indian Premier League’s 14 season gets underway on Friday.
