On Thursday’s doubleheader evening match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Delhi Capitals here at Narendra Modi stadium. The Delhi Capitals led by Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Both teams desperately need a win as the season advances with CSK and RCB constantly fighting at the top of the points table.

Delhi Capitals bowlers made some serious damage to the Kolkata Knight Riders batting order as they managed to destroy their opening order but Shubham Gill came in as the savior for the team today as he played an amazing innings scoring 43 runs to get the team to a stable score which was then followed by Andre Russell who scored 45 runs in the climax quickly and destructively taking the team’s total to 154 runs in 20 overs.

Chasing a score of 155, the Delhi Capitals openers have gotten off with what has been the season’s strongest start for the team with Pruthvi Shaw smashing 6 boundaries for Shivam Mavi to start the innings. Shikhar Dhawan on the other hand played an amazing supportive innings to complete a 100 run partnership to keep the batting momentum going for DC.

KKR bowler finally succeeded in breaking the Dhawan and Shaw partnership but it was very late as Delhi Capitals sailed away easily to the finish line to win the match with 21 balls left.
