Punjab Kings were successful in restricting Mumbai from hitting big in the powerplay, Ravi Bishnoi’s bowling against Mumbai Indians was what Punjab Kings were desperately in need from the beginning of the season. Mumbai Indians opening order collapsed like skittles in front of Punjab’s bowling attack.

Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav’s slow and mature batting brought Mumbai to the total of 131 runs in 20 overs, if not for these two batsmen, Mumbai would easily be restricted to a much lower score.

Chasing a total of 132 runs, Punjab Kings pretty much had the match in their pockets, K L Rahul and Manish Pandey went big right from the beginning, as they smashed boundaries and sixers for Mumbai’s bowling attack early in the match.

The partnership was destroyed when Rahul Chahar dismissed Manish Pandey at 25 runs, and then Chris Gayle was sent to the crease to bat for Punjab kings.

Chris Gayle is known for his destructive batting in the IPL where he has showcased some amazing batting power with his seamless hitting ability. Gayle got the crease today when K L Rahul was approaching his half-century, Gayle showed his masterclass experience with his unparalleled support for Rahul whilst scoring runs for himself and the team at the same time.

Gayle played with immense maturity, where he played necessary shots, when it was okay and then supported Rahul when he needed it. Chris Gayle scored 43 runs off of 35 balls with 5 boundaries and 2 massive sixers, the old Gayle who is famous for picking up balls and sending them straight to the stands was here at the crease today. Chris Gayle showed his power when he smashed 2 massive sixers for Trent Boult in the same over.

No matter how much Rohit Sharma tried to restrict Gayle with constant change in bowlers, Gayle was here to play till the end today as they chased down 132 runs with ease.

Gayle’s maturity in cricket was on display today as he understood the intensity of the match and his wicket to support K L Rahul and played with him till the end.

Although Chris Gayle hasn’t had a good season so far, this match seemed the start of everything massive for the West-Indies giant.
