Kolkata Knight Riders’ Pat Cummins played unbelievably well in their last encounter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday. With some exceptional knocks, it seemed like Cummins would take his team to the win but unfortunately, he couldn’t prevent his side’s another defeat in the ongoing season of IPL 2021.

Batting first, CSK ended up with 220/3 on the board with Faf du Plessis remaining unbeaten on 95 off 60 balls. His amazing knock includes four maximums and nine fours. Ruturaj Gaikwad was another player to play well and added 115 runs in 12.2 overs for the opening wicket with Du Plessis, completed 64 in 42 balls.

Chasing the target, Kolkata Knight Rides started off on a horrendous note as their top five batsmen were dismissed early and they managed a score of just 31 runs. CSK’s Deepak Chahar dismissed KKR’s top order and picked up four wickets.

However, Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik made up for their previous overs. Russell lost his wicket in the 12th over, making 54 off just 22 balls with six sixes and three fours. Pat Cummins then raised the hopes of KKR as he hit 30 runs in Sam Curran’s third over. He reached to his fifty in just 23 balls and remained unbeaten on 66 when KKR were bundled out for 202 in 19th over.
