Rituraj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis, the opening duo of Chennai seemed to have only one thing in their mind as they smashed KKR for a 115 run opening wicket partnership, Rituraj Gaikwad found his solid ground today and played a stellar innings scoring 64 runs off of 42 balls with 6 boundaries and 4 massive sixes before being dismissed by Varun Chakravarty.

But that didn’t stop CSK from pounding the ball as Veteran batsman du Plessis went on destructive batting innings scoring 95 runs off of 60 balls with 9 boundaries and 4 massive sixers, du Plessis made sure there was no way Kolkata’s bowlers could stop him from doing what he wanted to do on the crease today.

Du Plessis was sufficiently supported by Moeen Ali who scored 25 runs off of 12 balls with a strike rate of 208 runs, support came pouring for du Plessis as M S Dhoni also went into quick destruction mode with 17 runs off of 8 balls before getting dismissed by  Russel.

Jadeja’s quick cameo was the icing on the cake as he smashed the climax sixer for Pat Cumins to take CSK’s total score to 220 runs for 20 overs.

Destructive batting by openers, great support by the middle order was the main reason for CSK’s success in batting today, with such a huge score set up for chasing Kolkata Knight Riders seem to have landed themselves in trouble as their bowling order completely crumbled against Chennai’s batsmen.
