IPL 2021: Despite SRH’s slow start, Kane and Kedar’s firey innings help set a decent total against CSK

On Wednesday’s match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad here at Firoz Shah Kotla, the Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bat first.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their opener, Johnny Bairstow, earlier in the match for Sam Curran’s attack with a short ball on the middle leading to a catch for Deepak Chahar causing initial distress in the team.

After dealing with an initial wicket, the duo focused on settling down on the pitch to avoid any more wickets. This caused a very slow run rate dropping down to 6, but the duo was mainly focused on not losing any more wickets and making the most runs for the team and the duo continued to do so.

Manish Pandey brilliantly supported David Warner in getting a decent score for the team and pushing it to 100 runs and completing a 100 runs partnership.

Lungi Ngidi later in the 17th over broke Sunrisers hope to have a stable partnership as he dismissed David Warner and Manish Pandey both in the same over to create trouble for SRH.

Kane Williamson and Kedhar Jadhav then joined at the crease for the last few overs to provide a strong closing to the innings with some heavy-hitting, the duo managed to score 34 runs off of just 14 balls, Kane Williamson scored 26 runs off of 10 balls combined by 4 boundaries and 1 massive sixer with a staggering strike rate of 260.00, on the other hand, Kedar Jadhav scored 12 runs off of 4 balls with 1 boundary and 1 sixer and an unbelievable strike rate of 300.00

The Kane and Kedar duo played an exceptional climax inning for the team when they needed it the most, the sloppy start from the powerplay to the revival by Warner and Pandey could only be ended with such explosive and quick innings taking the score to a sturdy total of 171 runs in 20 overs. Williamson and Jadhav have provided much-needed batting support to the team, now everything depends on the bowlers to defend CSK from reaching the target.

Now, the Chennai Super Kings need 172 runs in 20 overs to win the match.
