The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League has started with a thrilling match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. The previous season of IPL took place in the UAE, this year however, the biggest cricketing carnival is back in India and is set to be played in six different locations namely Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru.

The first match of the IPL 2021 took place between Royal Challengers Bangalore and the defending champions Mumbai Indians with a great start in Chennai on April 9.

However, it has been announced that all the matches will be played behind the closed doors as to because of the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country, the fans are limited to watch the games on their television sets or mobile phones through live streaming.

Meanwhile, Star Sports Network, the official broadcast channel of IPL 2021 in India has announced the list of anchors and hosts for the ongoing tournament. The matches are supposed to be streamed live in 8 different languages – Hindi, English, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi and Malayalam.

Kira Narayan, Jatin Sapru, Neroli Meadows, Anant Tyagi, Suren Sundaram, Dheeraj Juneja, Bhavna Balakrishnan,Nashpreet Kaur, Suhail Chandhok, Anubhav Jain, Radhakrishnan Sreenivasan, Sanjana Ganesan, Muthuraman R, M Anand Srikrishna, Vindhya Medapatti, Neha Chowdry, Reena Dsouza, Kiran Srinivasa, Madhu Mailankody and Tanya Purohit.

According to the reports, Mayanti Langer, sports presenter won’t be a part of IPL 2021 as well after missing out the previous season after giving birth to a baby boy. Mayanti Langer has covered some major cricketing events till date.

“I’ve had what we call a pandemic pregnancy and my baby is a pandemic baby. I had to be completely isolated since I was in the high-risk category during my pregnancy, so as of now I am not thinking about a career or going back to work,” Langer quoted while talking to Hindustan Times last month.
