Ahead the tenth day of IPL 2021, with the first double-decker matches on the weekend, RCB is going head-to-head against Kolkata Knight Riders here at M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
RCB won the toss and chose to bat, coming off of two wins RCB looked to keep their batting momentum going but things didn’t go well as Virat Kohli was dismissed early by Varun Chakravarty as Kohli tried to hit it to the outside off, but Rahul Tripathi ran back and dived in to take a spectacular catch sending Kohli back to the stands for just 5 runs. Virat yet again failed to contribute big for RCB as an opening batsman.
Devdutt Padikkal and R. Patidar continued the action for Bengaluru at the crease, but Patidar was also dismissed by Varun Chakravarty again with a flat ball then landed and turned right back in to hit the wickets.
Glenn Maxwell made his way to the crease, his performance in the last match was impressive as he scored a much-needed fifty to revive the team from a batting slump.
Maxwell has made his name in the IPL for his insanely destructive batting style, the left-handed Australian is famous for scoop fours and massive sixers that end up torturing bowlers on the opposition, Maxwell went big as soon as he entered the crease and completed his second fifty of IPL 2021 in just 28 balls combined with 8 boundaries and 2 sixers. Maxwell went merciless mode on Kolkata’s bowlers and everyone at the RCB dugout loved it, especially captain Virat Kohli, who got up from his seat and reacted to Maxwell’s half-century.

With the second fifty, Glenn Maxwell reached the 140 run milestone in IPL 2021 and surpassed Nitish Rana to become the new Orange Cap holder of IPL 2021.
