Mumbai Indians daunting death-over batting has been one of the things to talk about, however, since the last two matches of MI in the IPL 2021 tournament, their batting strategies has immensely faltered against some phenomenal bowling attacks in the final phase of the innings. On April 9, during the season opener of IPL 2021, MI vs RCB, RCBs Harshal Patel knocked down Mumbai’s selected batters and made a terrific record of the first ever five wicket haul against the KL Rahul-led side MI. The next big thing to talk about in today’s match, KKR vs MI, it was KKR’s Andre Russel to join Harshal in the record breaking performance and taking 5 for 15 in just two overs.

Walking in the field in the 18th over, Russel took over the game and dismissed both Kieron Pollard and Marco Jansen before taking the wicket of Krunal Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Rahul Chahar in the final over and completed his five wicket haul.

As per the reports, 5 for 15 is the best figure by a bowler against Mumbai Indian surpassing Harshal Patel’s 5 for 27 picked at the same venue. During the time from 2008 to 2021, no other bowler has taken a five wicket haul against the defending champions Mumbai Indians, however, it becomes the record of two five wickets haul in 2021.

“I have been working very hard behind the scenes, taking the responsibility. There’s a possibility of going fr runs, but there’s always a chance to take wickets. I always keep stretching in the field and jogging around, you got to be ready in the 18th over. Bowling against Hardik and Pollard is always difficult thing, happy we could restrict them. It’s always good to get Pollard out early, we all know what he can do, Andre Russel said after completing the innings.
