On Tuesday, again we witnessed another low-scoring but close encounter between Delhi Capitals. DC by holding its nerves firmly chased down the target of 138 runs on a spinning pitch of Chennai.
Earlier on Tuesday, MI’s batting collapsed in front of Amit Mishra’s spin. Mumbai Indians batting first somehow managed to score 137 by losing 9 wickets. Amit Mishra bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets. He gave just 24 runs in his 4 overs.
MI won the toss and decided to bat first got a decent start but Quinton de Kock fell early. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav added 58 runs for the second wicket. But once they fell, the rest of the batters fell quickly. Pollard and Hardik gave up to Amit Mishra, whereas Krunal Pandya fell shortly to Lalit Yadav. Ishan Kishan looked to take the innings deep but got out just when it was the right time to accelerate. In the end, they somehow managed to score a low score.
MI scored 137 runs and lost their 9 wickets. DC had a small total in front of them to chase down.
Delhi lost Shaw early. But then Smith and Dhawan built a very good partnership. Steve Smith was looking good but got out to Kieron Pollard. Dhawan carried on his good form and scored 45 valuable runs. But he was dismissed since he was in the quest to accelerate the run rate.
Pant too fell shortly after a while looking to take on Bumrah. They were a few nail-biting moments towards the end but Shimron Hetmyer and Lalit Yadav held their nerves and made it for Delhi to win it.
In the end, it was DC’s day and it was definitely a great win for them.
