Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali’s hard-hitting collaboration guided CSK to the front seat against the Champions Mumbai Indians. The duo added a quick 108 runs and gave Chennai the strong position. Before getting out to Bumrah, Moeen Ali contributed 58 runs in 36 balls and Du Plessis added 48 to the partnership.
Moeen Ali came to bat at no.3 when Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed by Trent Boult in the first over. Moeen Ali didn’t let the wicket affect the flow of the batting as he scored 5 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. This is Moeen’s maiden fifty in this season. The in-form former South African Faf du Plessis also joined the party and he hit 16 runs to Bumrah, later in the same over Moeen was sent off.
