Chennai Super Kings were 125/5 after the 13 overs before their skipper MS Dhoni came in to bat. The onus was on him as the team needed a perfect end to innings. To begin with, Dhoni showed the intent from the very beginning . To avoid getting run out Dhoni made a full stretch dive to save himself and he also saved himself successfully. This full length dive in the very start of his innings reminded us of the World Cup 2019 semi-final against New Zealand where MS was run out.
In the 15th over bowled by leg-spinner Rahul Tewatia, MS Dhoni pushed one to the cover region and set off for a single. However there was no single and Ravindra Jadeja rightly said no to the captain. Dhoni was almost halfway down the wicket but he quickly turned around and put in a full-length dive.
As Dhoni returned to the crease the stumps were dislaunched by the RR captain Sanju Samson, after the review it was found out that Dhoni is successfully made his ground and was comfortably inside the crease.
I am 100% sure everyone's mind went back to one match after watching this dive. pic.twitter.com/Zyk44cWej2

Struggle of @ChennaiIPL batting is a concern, last few overs has MS & @imjadeja to score quickly and well they can. Chetan’s been phenomenal not giving much away and I have never seen Mahi dive, commitment level 👏🏻#CSKvsRR #IPL2021 @msdhoni pic.twitter.com/G5TQJfbI6g

The desperation and relentlessness was clearly visible on MS’ style of batting today who is playing his 200th match as a captain today.
