Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw gave the perfect reply to his critics with a typically destructive half-century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 20 of the Indian Premier League 2021 on Sunday. Shaw, who lost his place to Shubman Gill in India’s Test squad earlier this year due to his poor form with the bat, smashed his 8th fifty in IPL cricket off 35 balls in Chennai. Prithvi Shaw looked like he had a point to prove with his batting as he took the SRH bowlers to the cleaners right from the word go, smashing 7 fours and a six in the route of his half-century.

Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan have given Delhi Capitals a formidable start with an impressive 81-run opening partnership. Shaw has led Delhi’s surge with a terrific half-century before a run-out ended his stay at the crease. Rashid Khan struck the first blow of the game by dismissing Dhawan as SRH bowlers struggled to contain the openers with the new ball.

A magnificent innings from Prithvi Shaw comes to a rather unfortunate end. With Rishabh Pant not looking, he runs down the ground and is sent back but cannot reach the crease in time. Two quick wickets for Sunrisers.
