Chennai Super Kings registered their second victory of the 2021 league, by beating Rajasthan Royals by 45 runs shorts, and turning the game dramatically after setting up 189 for chase. The Royals lost their pace against Moeen Ali, who gave only 7 runs in a three over spell.
Winning the toss, Sanju Samson did the obvious and bowled first. The game started off well with CSK on their track, while it seemed like that CSK had a plan to not let their confidence down despite the falling off the wickets, as Moeen Ali smashed a couple of maximums and four across the two overs.
Towards the end of the innings, Sam Curran cracked a six on the second ball he faced. The final over produced two run-outs and at last they ended up on close to 190.
However, chasing 189, Rajasthan Royals started off with Deepak Chahar leaking 11 runs in the opening over with Jos Buttler smashing a glorious boundary. Despite their efforts, RR fell off short of 45 runs at the end of the game and lost the match against the Chennai Super Kings.
